Leah D. Teichmiller, PA-C
Leah D. Teichmiller, Physician Assistant, joined Cancer Care Specialists in May 2018. She primarily sees patients at Crossroads Cancer Center in Effingham and provides services in coordination with Dr. Philip Dy and Dr. Hanna Saba. Teichmiller obtained her Bachelor of Science in Health Science from Butler University in Indianapolis, Indiana, in 2015. She went on to earn a Master of Physician Assistant Studies from Butler University in 2016.
Teichmiller is certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants. As a Physician Assistant, Teichmiller collaborates with the medical oncologist and conducts comprehensive patient assessments, assists with patient care plans, provides health exams, orders diagnostic tests (such as x-rays, CT/PET scans, and laboratory tests), and coordinates with other members of the patient’s health care team. Teichmiller has experience in emergency medicine services and also has clinical training in internal medicine, family medicine and women’s health. She also has special interests in palliative care and preventative medicine.
