Office, Transcription & Billing

Office staff include receptionists, office assistants, and schedulers.

Office staff greet patients, answer phones, schedule follow up appointments, tests and referrals, maintain patient records, and other medical office duties.

Transcriptionists are specially trained to transcribe medical dictation. They transcribe dictation from CCSI physicians on a daily basis, including new patient consultations, follow up visits, procedure notes, and other medical correspondence.

Billing and payments for services provided are handled by CCSI business office staff at its main office at the Cancer Care Center of Decatur , at Cancer Care Center of O’Fallon, and Crossroads Cancer Center in Effingham. The billing staff use a computerized system to enter charges and file insurance claims. All Medicare and commercial insurance claims are filed electronically. In addition, the billing staff take care of Public Aid forms, secondary insurance claims, and direct patient billing.

Patients are asked to provide a copy of their insurance information during the registration process on their first visit and whenever information changes.

For more information or if you have a question about a bill, please contact the CCSI Business Office at (217) 877-9442.
