Welcome Rachael E. DeMattei, DNP, FNP-BC

O’Fallon, IL – Cancer Care Specialists of Illinois (CCSI) is pleased to announce the addition of Rachael E. DeMattei, Nurse Practitioner, to its practice in November 2023. She primarily sees patients at the Cancer Care Center of O’Fallon and also provides coverage as needed for CCSI satellite clinics. DeMattei has prior nursing experience with chemotherapy, biotherapy and stem cell transplants. She joins CCSI O’Fallon physicians in providing care to hematology/oncology patients in O’Fallon and surrounding areas.

DeMattei, a native of Freeburg, Illinois, obtained her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Barnes Jewish College Goldfarb School of Nursing in St. Louis in 2016. She went on to earn a Doctor of Nursing Practice from Southern Illinois University of Edwardsville in 2022.

As a Nurse Practitioner, DeMattei collaborates with the medical oncologist and conducts comprehensive patient assessments, assists with patient care plans, provides health exams, orders diagnostic tests (such as x-rays, CT/PET scans, and laboratory tests), and coordinates with other members of the patient’s health care team.

DeMattei is certified as a Family Nurse Practitioner by the American Nurses Credentialing Center. She is also a member of the American Nurses Association and the Oncology Nursing Society.
