CT/PET Scan

CT/PET Scan

This is a study using the latest technology of the CT scan in combination with the PET scan in one procedure. The physician orders the CT scan to analyze the anatomy of a tumor, such as taking measurements and determining the location, number of tumors, and how close a tumor is to vital organs.

The PET scan, on the other hand, determines the activity of a tumor, the likelihood of a mass to be cancer, and the extent of spread of a cancer. This study is done primarily in patients suspected of or having been diagnosed with some form of cancer.
