Welcome Laurean J. Winston, PA-C

O’Fallon, IL – Cancer Care Specialists of Illinois (CCSI) is pleased to announce the addition of Laurean J. Winston, Physician Assistant, to its practice in February 2021. She primarily sees patients at the Cancer Care Center of O’Fallon and also provides coverage at CCSI clinics in Breese, Highland, Greenville and Sparta.

Winston obtained her Bachelor of Science in Biology from Hampton University in Hampton, VA, in 2006. She went on to earn a Masters of Science in Clinical Laboratory Sciences from Rosalind Franklin University School of Medicine and Science in Chicago, IL, in 2007, and completed her Associates in Applied Science degree in Physician Assistant Studies at John Stroger Cook County Hospital Physician Assistant Program, City Colleges of Chicago, Chicago, IL, in 2012.

As a Physician Assistant, Winston collaborates with the medical oncologist and conducts comprehensive patient assessments, assists with patient care plans, provides health exams, orders diagnostic tests (such as x-rays, CT/PET scans, and laboratory tests), and coordinates with other members of the patient’s health care team.

Winston is certified as a Physician Assistant by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA). She is also a member of American Academy of Physician Assistants, Illinois Academy of Physician Assistants, Association of Physician Assistants in Oncology, and St. Clair County Medical Reserve Corps.
