Dr. Pramod Gaudel, medical oncologist/hematologist, joined Cancer Care Specialists of Illinois in July 2022. Dr. Gaudel primarily sees patients at Crossroads Cancer Center in Effingham and may also provide coverage at other CCSI clinics including Flora, Olney and Vandalia.
Dr. Gaudel received his Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) degree from Kathmandu University Manipal College of Medical Sciences in Pokhara, Nepal, South Asia. He went on to complete an Internal Medicine Residency at Albert Einstein College of Medicine/Montefiore Medical Center in New Rochelle, New York. He was the winner of the New York ACP Doctor’s Dilemma Competition 2017 during his residency. He subsequently completed a Fellowship as an Oncologic Hospitalist in the Department of General Internal Medicine at The University of Texas, MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, Texas, and completed a second Fellowship in Hematology and Medical Oncology at the University of Kansas in Kansas City, Kansas. He was also awarded with the prestigious Laxmidas A. Sawkar Fellowship Award 2022 during his fellowship.
Dr. Gaudel is board certified in Internal Medicine and is board-eligible in Medical Oncology and Hematology. He is a member of the American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO), American Society of Hematology (ASH), American Medical Association (AMA), American College of Physicians (ACP) and the Multinational Association for Supportive Care in Cancer (MASCC).
Dr. Gaudel has special interests in thoracic oncology and genitourinary oncology. His research interests include immunotherapy and targeted therapy. He has authored and been published in the Journal of Clinical Oncology, Blood, Journal for ImmunoTherapy of Cancer, Federal Practitioner, The Cureus Journal of Medical Science and the Archives of Clinical and Medical Case Reports. He has given poster presentations at ASCO, ASH, AMA Research Symposium, MASCC/ISOO Annual Meeting, NYACP Annual Scientific Meeting, Annual MSSNY Resident/Fellow Poster Symposium and The Global Academic Programs (GAP). He has volunteered with several medical missions and also enjoys spending time with his family.
