Cancer Care Specialists of Central Illinois, S.C. Receives Recognition for Cancer Care from Largest Oncology Society in United States
(Decatur, Illinois) – Cancer Care Specialists of Central Illinois, S.C. (CCSCI) has been recognized by the Quality Oncology Practice Initiative (QOPI®) Certification Program, an affiliate of the American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO). The QOPI® Certification Program provides a three-year certification for outpatient hematology-oncology practices that meet the highest standards for quality cancer care.

To become certified, CCSCI participated in an evaluation of practice policies and procedures and documentation standards, as well as an on-site review and peer review by a team of oncology professionals, related to treatment planning; preparation and administration of chemotherapy treatments; patient consent and education; monitoring and assessment of patient well-being; and staff training and education. CCSCI also demonstrates oncology practices consistent with the highest standards of care and met benchmark scores on specific evidence-based and consensus quality measures.
